For this Knights Templar costume,  I included the padded jacket and hose that would have been worn under armour for comfort and extra protection. The buttonholes are constructed by hand and tied using leather thonging. The hose is held up by a leather and brass belt. The surcoat is plain white linen with a long leather belt and plaited cord. Finally, I made a heavy linen cape to top all this, finished with a hand embroidered red cross, leather belt and bespoke brass medallions.
